Job Description

Elementary Teacher (Full-Time) GRACE Christian School In-Person | On Campus Position Overview GRACE Christian School seeks a dedicated Christian educator who supports the school's Mission and Vision by fostering spiritual growth, academic excellence and Christ-centered character in elementary students. The Elementary Teacher prayerfully guides students in developing the knowledge, skills, and biblical worldview necessary to grow as mature, responsible followers of Christ. Spiritual Qualifications & Expectations The teacher shall: Profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and affirm GRACE's Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision and Core Values. Model a Christ-centered lifestyle in attitude, speech and conduct both in and out of school. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all instruction and student interactions. Encourage students in their spiritual growth through prayer, Scripture, discipleship, and Christlike example. Partner with families, recognizing parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education. Follow biblical principles, including Matthew 18, in communication and conflict resolution. Support and actively participate in the spiritual and community life of the school. Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Leadership Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction aligned with standards across core subject areas (e.g., reading, math, science, social studies) through a biblical worldview. Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports academic growth, social development and respectful behavior through a biblical worldview. Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative tools; adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs. Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning and promote responsible digital citizenship. Support student accommodations and individualized learning plans as applicable. Communication & Collaboration Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior and classroom activities. Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff and administration to support student success and school initiatives. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events. School & Professional Responsibilities Maintain a safe, orderly and attractive classroom environment. Adhere to school policies, procedures, and the employee handbook. Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Supervise students and school activities as assigned. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, flexibility and emotional maturity. Engage in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School or Principal. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. ACSI Certification preferred; must be ACSI certifiable. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience required. Understanding of child development appropriate to the assigned grade level.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing or sitting, classroom mobility, bending as needed to assist students and lifting to 15 pounds. GRACE Code of Conduct for Faculty and Staff The staff member will manifest by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school to pupils (Luke 6:40), and as an example to all the GRACE family and fellow staff members in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living. This includes, but is not limited to, abstaining from drunkenness, illicit drugs, pornography, or the use of vulgar and profane language (Colossians 3:17, Titus 2:7-8, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 22-23, and James 3:17-18). In addition, the staff member voluntarily limits his/her Christian liberty (to avoid being a stumbling block and to respect parental beliefs) by abstaining from the use of alcohol or tobacco at any school-related function. The staff member will faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this school (Hebrews 10:25). • The staff member accepts without verbal or mental reservation both the Statement of Faith and the Educational Philosophy and Objectives of GRACE Christian School and is committed to uphold them. The staff member has read this Job Description and agrees to abide by the requirements listed. The staff member will become familiar with both the Faculty/Staff Manual and Parent/Student Handbook and agrees to abide by them, as well as any additions made during the year. He/she agrees to cooperate in every way with the school authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the GRACE Board of Trustees. Failure to do so may result in probation, fines, suspension without pay, or termination of employment. The staff member agrees to follow the biblical pattern of Matthew 18:15-17 and Galatians 6:1 and always give a good report, refraining from negative criticism and murmuring. All differences are to be resolved by utilizing biblical principles.
