An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description
Ashe County School is seeking to hire an elementary teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. Please submit your application to this job posting if you are interested in teaching at Westwood Elementary School. The application period opens July 21, 2026 and is open until July 31, 2026. Positions are full-time and available at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. Candidate must hold or be eligible to hold a NC Professional Educator License in Elementary Education K-6.
