Job Description

K-8 Technology Teacher Position Overview The K-8 Technology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality technology instruction aligned with the North Carolina Technology Standards while supporting the academic, digital, and ethical development of elementary and middle school students. This role builds foundational skills in digital literacy, computational thinking, creativity, and responsible technology use while collaborating with classroom teachers and school leaders to integrate technology across the curriculum. Primary Responsibilities Teach the North Carolina Technology Standards for grades K-8 through engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with ISTE standards Design and deliver instruction in digital literacy, keyboarding, coding fundamentals, multimedia creation, and responsible digital citizenship Develop and implement inquiry based lesson plans aligned with grade-level standards, pacing guides, and school instructional priorities Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities and multi-lingual learners Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress toward mastery of technology standards and adjust instruction as needed. Maintain accurate records of student learning, grades, and progress in accordance with school expectations Establish a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behavior and student engagement Teach and reinforce responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology Maintain classroom routines and expectations that promote independence and accountability Collaborate with classroom teachers to support technology integration across core subject areas Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, expectations, and technology use Participate in loop-level collaborative meetings, staff meetings, and professional development Comply with school policies, procedures, and reporting requirements Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership in support of the school's mission and vision Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure Knowledge of the North Carolina Technology Standards and instructional practices for elementary and middle grades Strong classroom management and instructional skills Experience teaching technology at the elementary and/or middle school level Experience with learning management systems, educational software, and digital tools used in K-8 settings Knowledge of coding platforms, robotics, 3D printing, or other STEM-related technologies Cape Fear Center for Inquiry is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability, or genetic information
