  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing plans for the age-appropriate curriculum with written evidence of preparation required.
  • Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter. Integrate tech into lessons.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies student needs, communicates, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
  • Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth activities.
  • Participates in cooperative with appropriate administrators to develop the method by which the teacher will be evaluated in conformance with guidelines.
  • Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
  • Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the state testing program.
  • Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
  • Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.
  • Assesses student learning styles and uses results for instructional activities.
  • Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.
  • Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to state requirements.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteers(s).
  • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
