Position Overview:
Newport School District is seeking an enthusiastic and creative 4th/5th Grade Teacher to lead a developmentally appropriate summer program designed to support rising and current 4th and 5th grade students. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through hands-on activities, play-based instruction, and thematic learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement instruction in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with support staff to manage daily routines and student needs
  • Monitor and assess student participation and progress
  • Communicate effectively with families and program coordinators
  • Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
Qualifications:
  • Valid NH teaching certification in Elementary Education
  • Experience teaching or working with children
  • Strong understanding of childhood development and instructional strategies
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for early learners
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred job ref.
