An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Hourly Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 DOE Responsibilities Attend to children's physical and emotional needs promptly and with compassion, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment. Implement and uphold Montessori principles in all activities, fostering an environment that promotes independence, exploration, and individualized learning. Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth. Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children. Lead by example, fostering success in the Guiding team through modeling and coaching. Maintain frequent communications with families through informal discussions, and daily child reports. Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met. Maintain accurate records, forms, and files. Maintain a professional development plan to ensure ongoing professional growth. Embrace and integrate constructive feedback positively to support continuous professional development. Design, lead, and actively participate in classroom activities that incorporate Christian values, worship, and prayer, fostering a spiritually enriching environment for children. Oversee Assistant Daycare Teachers, internally known as Assistant Guides, and classroom volunteers to ensure they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards. Required Skills Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of a PC and Tablet. Basic understanding of early childhood development. Basic knowledge of fundamental Christian values and practices. Required Qualifications At least 21 years of age At least 2 years of experience in a classroom setting Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (can be completed within 1 month of employment) Montessori Certification, Certified Childcare Professional (CCP), Child Development Associate (CDA), an equivalent national competency-based credential, or 6 credits in early childhood education and development (can be completed within 6 months of employment)
