Espanola, NM Job Description:

Deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in accordance with district and state curriculum requirements. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate innovative teaching methodologies to support critical thinking and problem-solving. Provide targeted interventions for students based on formative and summative assessment data to address individual learning needs. Administer and analyze assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed. Incorporate educational technology tools to enhance learning and promote student engagement. Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate the diverse needs of all learners, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs) or requiring differentiated instruction. Establish and maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment by implementing effective behavioral expectations and management strategies. Facilitate student-led inquiry, discussions, and activities that encourage active engagement and critical thinking. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development to refine instructional practices and stay current with educational trends. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and achievement. Plan and facilitate hands-on, real-world learning experiences that enrich and deepen student understanding of key concepts.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, Education, or a related field and one year of related experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Experience delivering STEM-based mathematics instruction in elementary education. Experience with student assessments, data analysis, and data-driven instructional adjustments. Experience using education technology including digital tools and platforms for lesson delivery and engagement. Experience adapting teaching for diverse learning needs, including IEPs. Experience with evidence-based classroom management and behavior intervention strategies. Experience with curriculum development and creating standards-aligned instructional materials. Experience with reading instruction and structured literacy techniques for elementary students. Eligible for NM State teaching certificate applicable to K-8 elementary education.
