An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our before and after school programs. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for students, focusing on their overall development and learning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childhood education, with an emphasis on elementary aged children, homework help, group activities and developing social and emotional well-being. You will play a crucial role in fostering a love for learning while ensuring the welfare of each child in your care. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of each student. Manage classroom activities to create a positive and productive learning environment. Provide individualized tutoring to support students' literacy education and overall academic growth. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to enhance understanding. Promote child welfare by ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Experience in elementary school age care, with the ability to create age-appropriate activities. Proficient in lesson planning that aligns with educational standards and student needs. Effective classroom management skills to maintain order and facilitate learning. Ability to provide tutoring assistance in various subjects, particularly literacy education. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
