Job Description
Overview Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys is seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Math Teacher for Grades 3-5 who is passionate about helping scholars develop strong mathematical skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence as learners. We are looking for an educator who believes all students can achieve at high levels and who is committed to creating an engaging, supportive, and academically rigorous classroom environment. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning while helping students build a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through meaningful instruction, problem-solving, and real-world application. Duties Planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for students in Grades 3-5 Creating a classroom culture that promotes academic excellence, perseverance, and a growth mindset Using student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and provide targeted interventions Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Implementing effective classroom management systems that maximize learning time and student engagement Collaborating with colleagues, interventionists, and special education staff to support student achievement Building strong relationships with students and families through consistent communication and partnership Participating in professional development and contributing to a positive school culture Experience Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred New York State Teaching Certification (Grades 1-6 or equivalent) Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics content and instructional best practices Demonstrated ability to create engaging and student-centered learning experiences Commitment to educational equity and high expectations for all students Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills Experience working in urban schools or diverse educational settings preferred Why Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys?
