An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred. Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in various settings; private school experience is a plus. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies. Proficiency in learning technology tools and educational software relevant to elementary education. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and community partners. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and standardized testing preparation. Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with autism or other learning differences is highly desirable. Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners' needs. Writing skills necessary for documentation, report writing, and communicating student progress clearly.
