An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Woodland Hill Montessori School is a vibrant school in New York's Capital Region, serving over 340 students from 18 months through 14 years of age. Well known for our unique and challenging educational program, warm stimulating environment, and joyful students, we foster active, independent learners. At Woodland Hill, each child is regarded with profound respect and care. Our students experience intellectual and academic success while developing independence, confidence, and an appreciation for the global nature of our world and the role they play in creating a promising future. All of our classrooms reflect a deep commitment to the Montessori Method and are carefully constructed around the child's developmental stages. We are looking for a new Elementary Teacher to join our team of dedicated and inspired educators. This is a 10-month position. Bachelor's degree required. Montessori Elementary credential strongly preferred. Training and professional development provided. Job title and compensation dependent on qualifications. $51,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
