The role focuses on bridging the gap between preschool and kindergarten by fostering social-emotional, academic, and physical growth through play-based learning and hands-on activities. Supervision The classroom teacher is under the supervision of the Preschool Director. Duties and Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lesson plans. Integrate math, language, literacy, and social-emotional skills into daily activities. Design and maintain an organized and safe environment which includes visual aids related to the age and stage of development Oversee and facilitate the general safety of the classroom environment and its activities, including play areas outside the classroom Monitor & assess student progress through observation and formative assessments to guide instruction and tailor support to individual needs. Communicate regularly with families to update them on student progress and provide strategies for learning at home. Document learning or behavioral concerns and notify director as needed Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with the preschool community Collaborate with other teachers monthly to develop lesson plans and share ideas Attendance at in-service training, parent teacher conferences, staff and parent meetings, and morning devotionals are required Adhere to all policies, procedures, and code of ethics Maintain 12 hours of Professional Development throughout the year Job Qualifications Active member of a local Christian church A valid state teacher credential is preferred A bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Classroom experience teaching children ages 4-6 preferred Able to lift 45 pounds Able to sit on the floor for short periods of time to interact with children CPR and First Aid certification preferred Knowledge of developmental milestones for children 0-6 years of age, with the ability to differentiate instruction
