The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring students to learn and develop their intellectual and emotional capacities. This position is for teaching the following advanced science courses for gifted learners grades 5 through 10: Advanced Math, may up to Calculus Advanced Chemistry A part-time teacher in this role will provide instruction from 9:00AM to 12:30PM with the potential for more available hours. Teachers working full-time are typically scheduled from 8:30 to 4:30 Responsibilities Plan and deliver in-school instruction in Math and Chemistry Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow teachers Teach various instructional methods Prepare and/or administer assessments to evaluate student performance Observe and record students' progress and provide parents with information about their children's development and behavior Attend teacher training sessions and workshops when needed Skills Proven experience as a teacher Ability to teach in a creative manner and inspire students with their own passion for learning Willingness to adhere to all school's policies and procedures Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as a mediator between students and their parents About Willamette Valley Academy Willamette Valley Academy is an independent private school for K-12 dedicated to providing students with the most rigorous, challenging, and engaging middle-years experience.
