This position could be grades 1-2 or 3-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic and social development of young learners. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and supporting the diverse needs of students in an elementary hybrid homeschool setting. Must live in Alaska. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning. Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations. Provide individualized support to students with varying abilities and age levels, including those with moderate special needs. Collaborate with parents to address student needs and enhance educational outcomes. Maintain effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement. Communicate in a timely and positive way with administration and parents. Work with the administration to promote the program through effective advertising strategies. Operate their own educational business. (This is optional but ensures higher pay.) Skills Strong mentoring abilities to guide students in their academic journey. Experience in teaching in a homeschool, private, or public school setting. Understand the needs of homeschooling families or those transitioning to hybrid schooling. Experience working with children of various ages and backgrounds. Experience teaching multiple levels at once is a plus. Proficient in classroom management techniques to maintain an orderly learning environment. Understanding of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate learning strategies. Appreciation and understanding of the values of Christian, conservative families while also maintaining the ability to teach secular material with little bias.
