JOB SUMMARY

To serve as a teacher in fulfillment of GCA's mission to Lead, Build, and Equip students.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable candidates should have the following background or comparable experience: Advanced degree preferred High level of emotional intelligence Exceptional oral and written communication skills Experience integrating technology into the curriculum Ability to engage parents/guardians as partners in the student's educational experience A history of continued growth and development as an educator A history of effective collaboration with colleagues Desire to interact with students outside of the classroom (e.g. coaching, clubs, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following, but are not limited to: Give instruction to the students in the curricula area assigned by the Principal Design teaching material Create lessons centered around a biblical worldview Facilitate course discussions on social issues from a biblical lens while acknowledging various denominational differences Devise lesson plans that follow GCA's Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps Ability to hold students to a clearly articulated standard of performance Experiment with different teaching methods Differentiate instruction for students with learning challenges Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning Utilize learning management system for instruction Update grades and lesson plans on Renweb Maintain cordial relationships with the home, parent(s)/guardian(s) and community Keep parent(s)/guardian(s) duly informed of the child's progress and hold conferences with parent(s)/guardian(s) when necessary Report to the appropriate authorities when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child's health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect. Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment Perform other duties as assigned Spiritual Qualifications Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and a lifestyle of biblical integrity. Affirm and communicate doctrine consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 revision, and The Nashville Statement.
