We are eager to welcome a teachers who are committed to a distinctly Christ-centered classical education and who desire to join a faculty marked by joyful scholarship, thoughtful instruction, and faithful discipleship. Prior experience in classical Christian education is preferred; however, we are willing to train candidates who demonstrate a teachable spirit and a genuine desire to grow in classical pedagogy and practice.
Qualified candidates will:
Hold at least a bachelor's degree (priority consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate mastery of content), have experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting, and can effectively communicate and differentiate lessons to meet individual student needs. Plan all weekly lesson plans assignments and classroom activities (and submit for administrative review and approval), using approved materials, curriculum, goals, and objectives within the school!s scope and sequence to present lessons. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Provide an orderly teaching environment by consistently enforcing classroom rules and school policies in a loving and firm manner. Display a love for learning and a passion to cultivate that love in their students. Be eager to work on a team to plan instruction and other student experiences such as plays, field trips, and other activities. Encourage and support colleagues. Demonstrating through words and deeds collegiality and unity with faculty and staff and a strong commitment to building up fellow teachers and administration. Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; in addition to communicating well with parents, students, donors, and colleagues. Have time management skills and ability to meet deadlines; strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Handle last minute emergencies and unexpected occurrences with professionalism. Hold strong attention to detail and high standard of excellence, accuracy, and discretion. Exhibit familiarity with office tools and applications (e.g. e-calendars and copy machines). Affirm RCA's doctrinal statement, maintain church membership in good standing or faithfully serving in a church whose statement of faith is consistent with RCA's, and be able to provide 3 letters of reference.
