Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Elementary and Middle School Math Teacher Austin Rising School Austin, TX Job Details Part-time From $32 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications School experience Algebra tutoring Experience working with children Bachelor's degree Experience working with middle schoolers Working with students Algebra Full Job Description Austin Rising School is seeking an experienced, qualified math teacher to lead our in-classroom math instruction program for elementary and middle school students. This is a position built around an online adaptive math curriculum — you'll be the instructional lead in the room, not just supervising screen time. Candidates identify where a student is struggling, explain concepts in more than one way, and know when a student has truly mastered a skill versus just clicked through the next lesson. What You'll Do Lead in-person math instruction using the adaptive online platform, guiding students through their personalized learning paths Monitor each student's progress and proactively identify gaps in understanding Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction when a student needs help beyond what the program alone offers Use ongoing assessment (both program data and your own observation) to determine when a student is ready to advance or needs more time on a concept Create a structured, engaged classroom environment that supports independent work balanced with direct teacher support Communicate student progress with school leadership and parents as needed Provide weekly homework for each class
Experience Needed:
Prior experience teaching math, ideally at the elementary and/or middle school level Strong foundational math knowledge across grade-level content and the ability to explain concepts clearly in multiple ways Patience, attentiveness, and genuine enjoyment working with kids Reliable availability for a consistent weekly in-person schedule Schedule & Compensation 15 hours per week, in person (Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-3:15pm) $32.00/hour Independent contractor position (1099) To apply, please send your resume
Qualification Required:
A bachelor's degree is required for the teaching position, unless you have ample teaching experience in mathematics. Solid subject matter knowledge in levels of mathematics up to Algebra I. Experience with students with mild learning differences is a plus.
