An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

The Role:
We are seeking a Lead 3-6 Guide to design an engaging, developmentally appropriate classroom that fosters independence and a love of learning. You will lead a multi-age classroom, guide an assistant teacher, and build strong partnerships with our families.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a complete, orderly, and inviting Primary environment aligned with Montessori principles. Present lessons in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Cultural Studies, and Grace & Courtesy. Guide individual and small-group lessons based on daily observations and child progress. Protect the uninterrupted morning work cycle. Keep accurate daily records of lessons, progress, and developmental needs. Establish clear classroom expectations using respectful limits and calm transitions. Supervise children actively and maintain compliance with Texas childcare licensing (HHS) and safety standards. Mentor and collaborate closely with your classroom Assistant Teacher. Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, and parent education.
What We Are Looking For:
A recognized Early Childhood/Primary Montessori credential from an AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited program (Required). At least 2 years of experience in a Montessori Primary classroom (Lead experience preferred). A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is a plus. Must meet all Texas HHS licensing requirements, including background checks. Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with families and staff. Ability to sit/work at a child's level and assist children physically when needed.
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
