A passion for holistic education Experience working with youth in enriching environments Must provide references and pass background screening We are a Nonprofit Micro-school that is organized by families in South Austin seeking alternative education. We were born out of COVID and have loved our experience so much that we are now preparing for our seventh school year. We are situated on a 5 acre homestead in Manchaca, equipped with indoor/outdoor classrooms, playground, multi sports court, nature trails, garden, and farm animals. Our families are all committed to embracing kindness, diversity, and self paced learning. This is truly a magical space filled with community that shows immense love and support to our teachers! Each of our classrooms have up to 10 students: 1 teacher. The teacher is expected to continuously create an enriching learning environment with a combination of child led and guided educational opportunities. Ideally our teacher will be comfortable with both following a provided curriculum as well as curating their own curriculum. The teacher is also responsible for regular parent communication and classroom cleaning/organizing tasks. The teacher will work closely with the other teachers on our campus to provide a consistent and cohesive learning environment. Our ideal curriculum incorporates nature, project based learning, promotes a love of lifelong learning, and incorporates state standards (TEKS) while also allowing room to meet each child where they're at. Our learning environment is rooted in respect and care for the whole child, both socially/emotionally and academically.
