Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Certificate (GED). Candidate must hold a valid Virginia Teaching license to qualify for teaching in excess of ten days or intermittently in excess of 90 days in any one school year. EEO Job Description Salary Scale
