Special Education Teacher (SPED) - Elementary & Middle School | Sterling, VA CareStaff Partners is seeking licensed Special Education Teachers for full-time school-based contract opportunities near Sterling, Virginia for the 2026-2027 school year . We are hiring SPED Teachers to support students in both elementary and middle school settings . These positions are ideal for educators who are passionate about providing individualized instruction, supporting student growth, and collaborating with school-based teams. Virginia Special Education teaching license is required.

Virginia SPED Teaching License Position Overview The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities based on their individual educational needs. The teacher will work as part of a collaborative school team to help students achieve their academic, behavioral, social, and developmental goals. Assignments may be available at both the elementary and middle school levels , with specific caseloads and student populations determined by the school. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to meet individual student needs Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive settings Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and related service providers Collaborate with school psychologists, SLPs, OTs, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other school staff Implement appropriate classroom management and behavioral support strategies Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment Ensure compliance with school district, state, and special education requirements
Qualifications Required:
Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week Ability to work in an elementary or middle school environment Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, and school staff
Preferred:
Previous school-based Special Education experience Elementary or middle school teaching experience Experience developing and implementing IEPs Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs Strong classroom management skills Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary educational team Why Work With CareStaff Partners?
