For a family, it can be the first place where they feel supported, understood, and confident that their child is in caring hands. The ECEAP Lead Teacher has the opportunity to create that beginning. This position is about building trust with children, partnering with families, and creating a classroom where every student is welcomed for who they are. It takes someone who understands that progress may look different for each child and who finds meaning in the small moments that help a child feel safe enough to try, speak, connect, and grow. At Nine Mile Falls Elementary, you will be part of a supportive team committed to giving children and families a strong start. The relationships built in this classroom will matter long after the preschool year ends. Terms of Employment and Salary The hourly rate range for the position, based on the 2025/2026 salary matrix, is Min. $22.53 - Max. $29.40. Salary placement will be at Step 1 of the Nine Mile Classified Public Employees Association Collective Bargaining Agreement unless documentation of experience is received per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Collective Bargaining Agreement and Salary Schedules can be found on the For Employees page of the Nine Mile Falls School District website at 9mile.org. Nine Mile Falls policies and Procedures can be accessed online at 9mile.org under the Our District page. Each employee shall accumulate up to twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full work year shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance. (
Example:
An employee working 10 months will receive 10 days of sick leave.) A maximum of three (3) Annual Leave days is provided for all employees based on the employee's scheduled employment hours per day to be used for an absence during work hours, or to be accumulated for the purpose of cash out, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employees anticipated to work 630 hours or more per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Services.

Nine Mile Falls Elementary School Nature and Scope of Job The ECEAP Lead Teacher will take part in a collaborative team to provide high-quality early learning instruction to meet the needs of our preschool students in an inclusionary early learning environment. The ECEAP Lead Teacher will ensure that our students and families have the best start to their educational journey and family partnership. You will join a supportive Nine Mile community and school team to foster academic and social emotional growth for each student.

Director of Student Services Primary Job Functions:
Create and manage a classroom environment that is safe and nurturing, and conducive to learning for all students. Builds positive relationships with children. Observes and assesses each child's developmental level for the purpose of documenting progress and working with parents to identify child's focus areas. Plans and implements children's curriculum based on assessments and child development knowledge while achieving individual goals and objectives. Designs a developmentally appropriate learning environment for the purpose of providing individualized skill building opportunities for children three to five years old. Implements and supervises developmentally appropriate learning activities to ensure individual and group learning goals are addressed and progress is monitored. Provide support to families and create an effective 2-way communication system. Assists in supervising and scheduling Paraprofessionals in conducting instruction, utilizing positive behavior strategies, and other relevant job duties in all settings. Participates as a collaborative member of school and district teams Attends staff meetings, trainings, and conferences as required by supervisor and program. Prepares teaching materials and related reports, maintaining accurate, complete, confidential, and timely records. (e.g. classroom activities, individual child observations, program records, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree or higher, with the equivalent of at least 30 college quarter credits in early childhood education. The 30 credits may be included as part of the degree or earned in addition to the degree; or A valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education, Pre-K-Grade 3, or Early Childhood Special Education. Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and administrators. Demonstrated ability to maintain professional and ethical conduct and protect the confidentiality of student and family information. Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance at the assigned worksite during scheduled work hours. Ability to comply with District policies and procedures and the Code of Professional Conduct. Ability to perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Certificates & Licenses Maintain a current pediatric CPR/first aid certificate Maintain a current Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card Knowledge of building emergency procedures Universal precautions for prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens training (Safe Schools) Preventing, identifying, and reporting child abuse and neglect training Valid driver's license and required auto insurance Reliable personal transportation Continuing Education/Training State Training and Registry System (STARS) Complete a minimum of 15 hours of professional development per year, such as workshops or classes, but not including individual mentoring. criminal history background clearance (at employee's expense) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills in operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications, planning and managing projects, and preparing and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge in concepts of grammar and punctuation, stages of child development, age appropriate activities, health standards and hazards, and safety practices and procedures. Abilities in communicating with diverse groups, adapting to changing work priorities, maintaining confidentiality, working as part of a team, meeting deadlines and schedules, setting priorities, and working with interruptions.
Environmental and Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds, kneeling and bending Significant amount of floor time managing preschool student activities Climate-controlled indoor environment with or without air-conditioning Will be required to supervise outdoors or outside of school grounds (field trips) Managing the activity level of Preschool aged children Will be required to stand for several hours at a time
