Job Description

Four Year Old Kindergarten Teacher (4K) Northern Door Children's Center | Sister Bay, Wisconsin Our early childhood center is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Four Year Old Kindergarten Teacher (4K) to join our team in beautiful Sister Bay, Wisconsin. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about early learning, values relationships with children and families, and creates engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Position Summary The 4K Teacher, in conjunction with a team of educators, is responsible for planning and implementing a nurturing, play-based learning environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of four-year-old children. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, creativity, independence, and kindergarten readiness while building strong partnerships with families and staff. Responsibilities  Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities including literacy curriculum that is grounded in the Science of Reading, an extensive body of interdisciplinary research that explains how children successfully learn to read. Instruction is explicit, systematic, and targets phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension  Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment  Support children's social-emotional growth through positive guidance and co-regulation strategies  Observe, assess, and document children's development and learning and progress  Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities  Collaborate with teaching staff and administration to support program goals  Maintain classroom organization, licensing compliance, and health and safety standards  Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and center events Qualifications  Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred  Wisconsin DPI teaching license or eligibility preferred  Experience working with preschool or 4K-aged children  Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and early childhood best practices  Strong communication and teamwork skills  CPR/First Aid certification and other required training or willingness to obtain  Ability to pass all required background checks What We Offer  Supportive and collaborative work environment  Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education  Competitive pay based on education and experience ($25-$28 per hour)  Paid time off and holidays  The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families  Full-time/year round position  Health care stipend  Four Day Work Week  Child Care Discount  Tuition Assistance through the TEACH program How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their experience and passion for early childhood education.
