Elementary School Teacher

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated certified Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic, social, and emotional, and spiritual development of students. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to ensure each child's success.

Qualifications:

Holds a current WV Elementary Teaching License Complete and pass a background check Reports to:

School Administration Job Responsibilities/Performance Criteria:

• Demonstrates knowledge of and implements programs of study for a Christian-based curriculum
• Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning consistent with the mission of SLCA
• Monitors student progress toward mastery of goals and objectives
• Communicates effectively with the education community, students, parents/families on a regular basis and meets professional responsibilities
• Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in subject field and develops lessons and activities to teach instructional objectives ○ Follows established school discipline procedures and establishes procedures and classroom rules that enhance learning
• Encourages student attendance eSets high expectations for student success
• Fosters and expresses a love for Jesus
• Treats students in a fair and equitable manner
• Organizes teaching strategies to maximize instructional time to increase student achievement ○ Gathers, stores, and monitors data related to student learning for use in assessing progress toward achieving instructional objectives
• Demonstrates behavior that reflects established professional responsibilities (attendance, punctuality and verbal/nonverbal communication)
• Commands respect by example in appearance, manner, behavior and language
