CEGR 202
(Surveying & GIS), CEGR 212 (Civil Engineering Materials & Laboratory), and
CEGR 302
(Structural Analysis I) , along with additional courses as needed to fulfill departmental instructional requirements. Deliver lectures, laboratory sessions, and hands-on demonstrations in alignment with course syllabi and program outcomes. Apply innovative and inclusive teaching methods to foster student learning, engagement, and professional development. Maintain effective assessment practices to measure student achievement of learning outcomes. Student Support Provide academic advising, career guidance, and mentorship to undergraduate students. Hold regular office hours and maintain accessibility to students for consultation and support. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment to enhance student belongingness and academic success. Curriculum Development & Continuous Improvement Contribute to the development, revision, and enhancement of course syllabi, instructional materials, and laboratory modules. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment with accreditation requirements (ABET) and industry best practices. Incorporate emerging technologies, applied software, and practical design tools into teaching where appropriate. Departmental & University Service Participate in departmental and school-level committees, meetings, and initiatives. Support student organizations and competitions (e.g., ASCE Student Chapter, Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge). Assist with recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts to grow and strengthen the student body. Contribute to special projects, program accreditation, and other departmental needs as assigned. Professional Development Stay current with advances in civil and environmental engineering and engineering education. Engage in professional societies, workshops, or training to enhance teaching effectiveness and subject matter expertise. Share knowledge and industry practices with students to prepare them for engineering careers. Requested Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate engineering mechanics courses. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Education Masters Degree Other Preferences for Consideration Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. Previous teaching experience at the college/university level. Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure or progress toward licensure. Experience with engineering software, laboratory instruction, and applied design practices.
