The Department is seeking professionals to serve as instructors in the following areas: Material Science Material and Energy Balances Unit Operations Laboratory Fluid Mechanics Thermodynamics Heat Transfer Separation Processes Chemical Reaction Engineering Process Dynamics and Control Bioprocess Engineering Bioseparations Transport Biotransport Design (capstone design course) In addition, opportunities exist for teaching courses within our new biomedical engineering program, developing new courses, and teaching at the graduate level. Contract Type LOA If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration. The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool. Appointments are on a part-time basis and vary in duration, a couple weeks, a semester or an academic year, depending on the specific needs of the department/program. Salary is dependent on number of courses taught and duration.

The Program The Department The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering offers two undergraduate degree programs: Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering Both of these degree programs integrate chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and mathematics along with oral and written communications courses, and CORE courses in the humanities and social sciences. The bioengineering program adds a significant exposure to biological science in addition to the chemistry core. The chemical engineering and bioengineering programs are fundamentally similar in that both are focused on the transformation of molecules, but the methods and equipment used for biotransformation and separation are quite different from those used for chemical transformations. The curricula accommodate the unique characteristics of each discipline. Each ChBE student participates in a capstone senior design team project that provides an opportunity to pull together the knowledge and skills learned in earlier courses to solve a real world problem. The College The Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering comprises five academic departments (Chemical & Biological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Gianforte School of Computing, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Mechanical & Industrial Engineering and is home to the following research centers: Center for Biofilm Engineering (CBE), Western Transportation Institute (WTI), Montana Microfabrication Facility (MMF) and the Subzero Science and Engineering Research Facility; the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC); and the Army and Air Force ROTC Units. The College enrolls approximately 4,000 students with more than 200 studying in graduate degree programs. Doctoral degree programs include a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Engineering with options in the fields of Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
