JOB OBJECTIVE
This faculty position supports the Electrical Engineering programs by delivering high-quality instruction, laboratory experiences, and instructional materials that promote student learning and achievement of established outcomes. The role emphasizes curriculum development and continuous improvement aligned with industry standards; active participation in professional development, institutional service, and program assessment; collaboration with faculty, staff, industry partners, and advisory boards; engagement in accreditation and grant-related activities; support for student access and workforce development; shared responsibility for the operation and upkeep of classrooms, laboratories, and equipment; and active involvement in student recruitment and community outreach in support of the College's mission.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
50% A. Create instructional materials and laboratory experiences and teach courses at a variety of times in response to institutional needs, evaluate students' progress toward achievement of stated student learning outcomes and inform them in a timely manner of their progress in the course, contribute to management of labs, and equipment, develop or update course syllabi for courses within the college guideline and curriculum as necessary to remain current with the industry, reviews, evaluates, and recommends student learning materials. 20% B. Responsible for professional development and institutional service as determined inconsultation with the Department Head. Work with other faculty, staff, and local industries and organizations to continually refine and improve the Electrical Engineering Technology program. Such duties to be performed include: developing new course materials or courses as required to maintain program currency in emerging technologies in the field of Electrical Engineering Technology and the development of course work associated with it; completing assessment requirements relative to the program; engaging members of an active advisory board; participate in evaluating and preparing articulation agreements and prior learning assessments. 10% C. Provides access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods, serve on internal and external committees for the College and the community at large. Work with Workforce and Community Development department to develop workforce solutions within the area of Electrical Engineering Technology. 10% D. Involvement in assessment and ATMAE accreditation process, writing grant proposals related to program goals and objectives as well as participating in grant activities 5% E. Share responsibility for day-to-day operation and routine upkeep of classrooms, labs, and equipment. Perform related duties as assigned. 5% F. Recruitment of new students. Along with other duties as assigned.

JOB STANDARDS
Minimum Faculty Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a closely-related area from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college level. Pellissippi State Community College recognizes that the ability to communicate effectively is an essential skill for all academic personnel to perform competently. To ensure that all faculty are proficient in oral and written English, the following requirements are to be used during the selection process to evaluate candidates: a. Ability to speak and write English clearly; b. Ability to understand written and spoken English; and c. Ability to communicate effectively in an academic environment (for example, previous successful employment in an academic institution. Preferred Faculty Qualifications Relevant industry experience and research & development experience. Leadership experience in higher education, such as serving as a department head, program director, or in a similar academic leadership role. Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or closely related area from a regionally accredited institution or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or closely related area). Teaching experience across multiple instructional modalities, including hybrid, asynchronous online, and synchronous online formats. Experience in applicable electrical and electronics equipment and software including
LABVIEW, FANUC
robots, WINCAPS III for DENSO robots, Instrumentation Technology and Programmable Logic Controllers.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE
Broad, current industry knowledge and practical applied experience in the fields of Electrical and Electronics Industry are required along with the ability to translate that knowledge, and skill sets into a meaningful learning experience in a classroom or laboratory setting. A willingness to participate as a team member to the overall goals of the Program and Department, as well as to prepare students for the workplace and lifelong learning opportunities. A strong desire to work with students and to help them achieve success is required.

EQUIPMENT
The Electrical Engineering Technology program is equipped with a variety of lab equipment and software, including
LABVIEW, FANUC
robots, WINCAPS III for DENSO robots, Instrumentation Technology and Programmable Logic Controllers. A full-time lab technician manages maintenance and upkeep; however, faculty are expected to have a general knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, the operation of this equipment to support student learning.
