The budgeted annual salary that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $1,686 per section taught. Job Purpose:
The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, invites applications for its Adjunct Faculty Pool within the CEDE Department to serve as Senior Design Project advisors. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science who can contribute to our vibrant and growing student-centered program. Successful candidates will have the enthusiasm, presence, and skills to engage students and should be committed to pursuing excellence in teaching and promoting an inclusive learning environment. Candidates will be fully responsible for guiding one or more engineering design projects, submitting grades, and being available to students. Essential Functions:
Lead weekly team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming work.
- (Essential) Mentor student teams in defining project scope and guiding them through the design process to meet milestones and deliverables.
- (Essential) Review technical and project management work, providing constructive feedback and coaching problem-solving without giving direct solutions.
- (Essential) Monitor team progress, performance, and dynamics, including resolving collaboration issues.
- (Essential) Assess and assign individual grades based on student performance across key outcomes, including communication, teamwork, project management, and design.
- (Essential) Review, approve, and sign off on student-prepared budgets, manufacturing plans, and technical reports.
- (Essential) Support development of professional skills, including technical writing and presentations, and evaluate related deliverables.
- (Essential) Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between student teams and project sponsors/clients.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering or related field (or a bachelor's degree with professional experience equivalent to a master's degree)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience at the university level. Demonstrated ability/potential to provide quality educational experiences to a diverse student population.
