College of Arts and Sciences Job Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is searching for a full-time, temporary, non-tenure track visiting Instructor of English, beginning August 2026. This is a one-year temporary position with health benefits and renewable for a second year. The teaching load is 24 credit hours a year over two semesters. Required Qualifications The successful applicant must have a Master's degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or related field and at least two years of experience in teaching first-year composition. The new hire will be expected to mainly teach courses in First-Year Composition. Review of complete applications will begin April 13, 2026.
