Job Description

The mission of Marianapolis Preparatory School is to educate students in the Catholic tradition of academic excellence with a commitment to an active faith in God and a dedication to building character with content, compassion, and integrity.
Part-Time English Language Faculty Position:
Marianapolis Preparatory School seeks a qualified teacher, preferably with experience in an independent secondary school setting, to teach English Language to non-native speakers, from diverse backgrounds and cultures, with the collaboration and supervision of the Chair of the English Language Department. The ideal candidate has experience in organizing courses for non-native speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of English language use (speaking, writing, and comprehending). EL Faculty will work in collaboration with teachers of all disciplines in support of each English language learner. To be successful, the English Language Teacher will create an environment that encourages students to interact with each other to improve their English language skills. ClearTouch Technology is utilized to facilitate the synchronous learning experience. Preference will be given to candidates who shows proficiency in: excellent oral and written communication skills conducting activities and lessons based on English language teaching methodologies experience in using innovative approaches and instructional strategies including the effective use of technology, to increase student confidence and learning All teacher candidates are expected to have either experience or interest in learning the Understanding by Design curriculum development framework. Preferred candidates must enjoy working with adolescents, have an ability to work well in a student-centered curriculum, and understand student learning styles and differentiated instruction.
This part-time position could include:
advising, participation as an athletic coach or extracurricular leader, and involvement in residential life — understanding that the typical commitment involves both after school activities and weeknight-weekend supervision.
