Job Description

Starting Pay Rate:
Per Adjunct Faculty Pay Scale The pay rates are aligned with the terms outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Schedule Information:
Days/evenings/weekends depending upon course schedule
  • This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates for the above subjects. As teaching needs arise, these applications will be reviewed for possible interviews
  • The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.

Job Description:
Speech 101 is a basic oral communication course taught face-to-face, covering a multitude of speech topics. The instructor is responsible for facilitating the class, grading student speeches, teaching basic communication processes, and working with the faculty to develop the class and assess student work. The instructor is also responsible for maintaining their own electronic website associated with the course (through the College's system of choice, BlackBoard). This person should be on time, flexible, and supportive to students.
Education Requirements:
Master's Degree in Speech Communication or related area required .
Experience Requirements:
Preferred:
Teaching at college level, two years experience helpful.
