Essential functions (job duties): The Department of English seeks to hire Part-Time Faculty on an intermittent basis to teach English composition courses in the Fall 2026 and possibly the Winter 2027 semesters.
Job duties include:
Prepare and develop lectures and course materials according to department guidelines. Provide instruction in engaging and innovative formats. Communicate student progress in a timely manner. Meet with students one-on-one during regular office hours announced in the syllabus at the beginning of the semester. Adhere to all department and university policies and procedures. Create a classroom environment that supports and encourages inclusivity.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in English or field related to primary area of teaching. Flexible availability to teach day and evening courses on various days. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use technology to support course instruction.
Preferred qualifications:
Two years prior teaching experience and proof of demonstrated success in a university or college setting.
