Position Overview Primary Purpose of the Position The Department of English is seeking a pool of candidates for temporary Adjunct Faculty positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates should be able to teach general education courses focused on academic writing or literature analysis. In addition, candidates must be willing to hold office hours and adhere to department and university policies. Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Department of English offers an undergraduate degree in English and minor programs in dramatic arts and African American Literature. Our innovative academic programs prepare students to assume leading roles in society, industry, and the academy. Yes Appointment Length. 5-10 months Position Number AJC113 Requirements and Preferences Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies No Minimum Experience/Education Master's Degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English from a four-year regionally accredited institution One or more years of experience teaching writing to undergraduate students in face-to-face environments Normal Work Schedule Morning, afternoon and evenings.
