Job Description:
SUNY Westchester Community College seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Italian Beginning Levels 1 & 2 in person. These classes are non-credit and offered through our Community Education/Personal Enrichment department. Each class runs for 1.5 hours weekly, for 12 weeks total, during both fall and spring semesters. This course is typically offered on Saturday mornings, but date/time may be flexible.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Italian or related field in Italian Studies and a minimum of one year of experience. Successful candidates must also be familiar with course management systems, and have prior teaching experience. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in instructional technology and one (1) year of classroom teaching in any level of Italian are also preferred.
Additional Information:
HOURLY RATE OF PAY
$63.20 per hour. No benefits.
POSITION EFFECTIVE
