Description:
The Department of English at the University of Houston is hiring temporary, part-time lecturers. Instructional content areas of particular need are: Freshman Composition I and Freshman Composition II. Successful applicants may also be asked to instruct undergraduate courses in other areas such as literature. These courses are taught in multiple formats such as face-to-face instruction, hybrid, and online. This is a non-tenure track position and appointments are made on a semester to semester basis. To apply, candidates must provide a letter of interest, a current curriculum vitae, and unofficial transcripts, Applicants are also welcome to provide a teaching philosophy/statement and a writing sample.
Qualifications:
Master or doctorate in English, or related field, with at least a year of teaching at the college level. Required Attachments by

Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letter/Letter of Application, Unofficial Transcripts A list of three references will be requested upon selection. Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of final candidate. All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
