Working Title OYA•Lecturer I in Theatre Department (Temporary Faculty) Location Rio Grande Valley, Texas Division/Organization Provost•Academic Affairs Appointment Period for Non-Tenure Position 1 year Tenure Status Non Tenure Track FTE 1.0 Scope of Job The Department of Theatre at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking to hire a Lecturer I to teach in its Bachelor's in Theatre program. We are currently hiring for a one-year appointment position in Film Production for Fall 2026 only. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching one or more of the following: Introduction to Film Editing Advanced Film Editing Introduction to Film Video Production Intermediate Film Production Advanced Film Production The position will be 5 courses per semester for a 5/5/ teaching load. There will also be a service requirement for this position in addition to standard faculty duties such as office hours, meetings, etc. Minimum Qualifications The qualifications to be considered for a lecturer are an MA in film or MA in related field with 18 graduate hours of theatre or film from an accredited institution or related professional experience. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Relevant experience in the subject area is required. Courses with technical components require demonstrated technical expertise. Preferred Qualification Teaching experience is desirable, terminal degree in area preferred. Applicants with experience in more than one area are preferred.
