Location:
Eastlake High School Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed English/language arts educator to join our faculty as a full-time ELA teacher. This is family." —we are looking for someone who shares our dedication to building meaningful relationships and fostering a sense of belonging in every classroom. This role involves teaching on-level and/or advanced-level English to students in grades 9-12 and requires high expectations for academic achievement matched with high levels of support. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about guiding young people through inquiry-based, analytical learning. Key Responsibilities Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in English/language arts concepts. Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn. Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school-wide goals. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs. Build strong, caring relationships with students, promoting both academic and personal growth. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment. Embrace and model the Eastlake credo in daily interactions and professional conduct.
Qualifications Required:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a high-school level English/language arts endorsement. A deep commitment to student-centered teaching, inclusion, and equity. Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset. A passion for English education and meaningful student relationships.
Preferred:
Experience working with high school students (ages 14-19). Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home. This is a 1.0 FTE continuing position.
Salary:
Paid per teacher salary schedule with Base contract plus additional contracts for LEAP days, and Responsibility. Additional Technology stipend and Professional Fund.
