Job Description

Description St. Pancratius School is a TK - 8 Catholic elementary school located in Lakewood, CA. The applicant we are seeking is a dedicated, faith-filled, and dynamic educator to serve as an 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher and Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for students in Grades 6-8. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping adolescents grow academically, spiritually, and personally while fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. This teacher will build meaningful relationships with students, inspire them to achieve their highest potential, and create learning experiences that challenge and support learners at varying levels. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member who actively contributes to the life and mission of our Catholic school community. Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction for students in Grades 6-8. Develop lessons that align with curriculum standards and promote critical thinking, communication, reading, and writing skills. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests of students. Use assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, academic excellence, and student accountability. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families regarding academic performance. Build strong, meaningful relationships that encourage students to grow in confidence, character, and responsibility. Support and actively promote the mission and values of Catholic education. Integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values into daily interactions and classroom instruction. Serve as a positive role model of Christian faith, service, and leadership. Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning and school culture. Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians. Utilize educational technology to enhance instruction, student engagement, and learning outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)
  • Valid teaching credential (single- or multiple-subject) and/or Master's Degree in the field of education or subject related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Candidates in the process and enrolled in a teacher preparation program are welcomed to apply.
  • At least 2 or more years of teaching preferred, but training and support will be provided for new teachers

New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
