Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced CLDE Consultant to join our Teaching and Learning-CLDE department. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the successful implementation of our Dedicated English Language Development curriculum across Aurora's high schools. With a deep understanding of language acquisition, you will work closely with teachers and school leaders, offering explicit and direct coaching to establish effective learning labs and create an inclusive educational experience for all students. See full job description here . A master's degree in Education, TESOL, or a related field, with a focus on language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high school setting. Demonstrated expertise in language acquisition theories and practices, with a proven track record of successful curriculum implementation. Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support to teachers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with school staff and students. A deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and their impact on student learning. Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret and present data-driven insights for curriculum improvement. Knowledge of current educational research and best practices in language instruction. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required. A valid teaching license or certification in the state of Colorado (or the ability to obtain one). Provide expert guidance and support to high school teachers and school leaders in implementing the Dedicated English Language Development curriculum. Offer explicit and direct coaching to enhance teachers' instructional practices and promote effective language acquisition strategies. Establish and oversee learning labs within high schools, creating an environment that fosters inclusive and engaging language development. Collaborate with the CLDE department to align curriculum implementation with the school's overall educational goals and objectives. Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers, ensuring continuous improvement in language instruction. Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching. Develop and deliver professional development workshops for teachers, focusing on language acquisition and culturally responsive pedagogy. Build strong relationships with school leaders and teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning community. Monitor and assess the impact of the curriculum implementation, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
