JOB DESCRIPTION
Fremont RE-2 School District secondary teachers demonstrate strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise in their endorsement area. The High School English Language Arts Teacher will establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that supports a diverse population of students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Colorado Teaching License Proper endorsement in Secondary English Language Arts as required by the Colorado Department of Education Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards for English Language Arts Strong background in literature, composition, grammar, and research writing Experience using data to drive instruction and improve student achievement Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, administrators, and families Willingness to comply with district, state, and federal instructional standards Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings and fingerprinting Responsibilities include: Teaching literature, composition, grammar, vocabulary, and research writing to students in grades 9-12 Developing students' analytical reading, critical thinking, and argumentative writing skills Preparing students for state assessments and postsecondary readiness Planning and delivering standards-based instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards Using formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional decisions Providing timely, meaningful feedback on written work Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners Collaborating with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Monitoring student progress toward graduation requirements Communicating regularly with families regarding student progress Participating in school improvement efforts and professional development Supervising students and fulfilling additional duties as assigned, which may include advisory or extracurricular sponsorship Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, collaboration, and leadership. SALARY & BENEFITS
