This full-time, contract opportunity requires expertise in teaching students who are visually impaired, and involves working with elementary, middle, and high school students within an itinerant model—primarily K-8, with a total caseload of 12 students across two schools per day, and occasionally three. Your teaching schedule begins August 10, 2026 and continues through May 25, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour work week. Day-to-day assignments include supporting students at both the Lake Howell and Lake Mary school clusters, developing individualized learning strategies, and collaborating with school teams to promote accessibility and inclusivity.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid educator certification and national certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience instructing K-8 students with visual impairments Comfortable working in an itinerant model, traveling between schools within clusters Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with staff and families Ability to be flexible and adapt instruction based on caseload and student needs Completion and clearance of district background and fingerprinting processes Commitment to supporting students in both general and special education settings
