Interested candidates are expected to understand and demonstrate the use of the state standards and be passionate about working with advanced and struggling learners to instill a love for reading.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structure of the discipline(s) taught and makes the subject matter meaningful to students. Teach an Advanced Placement class ( AP ) Develops and implements a strategic planning system, including course, unit, and lesson plans. Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement. Manages student misconduct promptly and resolves conflict and crises effectively. Establishes and maintains a safe and secure classroom environment. Provides students and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement. Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students' learning and well-being. Maintains a professional development plan and engages in professional development activities. Uses appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes. Demonstrates with data positive classroom results and trends. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university. Possession of valid teaching certificate. Successful results of criminal and employment background check. Possesses strong time management & organizational skills as well as excellent communication skills. Demonstrates proficient experience with Microsoft Office, Student Information System (SIS) and email communications.
