Dual Enrollment English Teacher

07/22/2026 Immaculata - La Salle High School, a private Catholic school in Miami, Florida is looking to hire a qualified Dual Enrollment Teacher in English for the 2026-27 school year who has a deep understanding of language and literature that will allow him or her to create lessons that are relevant to the students and that enhance the students' conceptual understanding of the functions of language and literature in their own lives as they learn and apply academic concepts through diverse teaching methodologies. The position begins on August 3, 2026, and the candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in English, Creative Writing, or related English subject field is required, or another Master's with at least 18 credits in English/Literature/Creative Writing. Florida Department of Education Teacher Certification, in English grades 6-12 preferred. Must obtain catechetical certification from the Archdiocese Office of Catechesis within three years of hire. Minimum of one year of experience. A willingness to continue to learn in their teaching profession. Interpersonal communication skills to maintain classroom management and student engagement. Desire to help guide high school students towards a holistic formation of personhood. Familiarity with iPad Applications and a willingness to work with such technology. Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively. Familiarity with MS Office; Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with online gradebooks, and other online educational applications; he/she should have a willingness to work with such technology. Good spelling and grammar required. Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice. Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred. Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church. Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
