Job Description

  • Mater Academy Biscayne has made a home in the newly renovated grounds of the former Johnson and Wales University.
In addition, we are entering are third year of being a Cambridge school. We are searching for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. We offer an expanded level of support to new teachers and also welcome and actively seek teachers with experience.
Duties:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
  • Teach language arts concepts and skills to students, including reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback on assignments and assessments
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification or license in Language Arts or English or eligible
  • Strong knowledge of language arts curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Proficient in technology tools and resources for instruction and assessment
  • Organizational skills to effectively plan and manage classroom activities
