Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ELA and secondary teaching. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles while fostering a positive classroom environment. The Math Teacher will also be responsible for assessing student progress and providing individualized support to enhance their learning experience. As a Christian school, we believe teachers are role models and mentors. A Christian faith and lifestyle is requisite to this position. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and incorporate various teaching methodologies. Integrate biblical themes and and a Christian worldview into all lesson plans and ESOs. Teaching World Literature, American Literature, British Literature, and other courses as needed. Helping students to master critical reading, writing, speaking, and language skills Manage classroom dynamics effectively to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Assess student performance through standardized testing, projects, and regular evaluations; provide constructive feedback to students. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and share best practices for teaching mathematics. Mentor students in academic advising and support their educational goals through tutoring sessions as needed. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding academic performance. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accreedited college or university; ELA related or Educational Degree Preferred. Educational background with a track record of teaching is preferred; private school experience is a plus. Familiarity with literature and composition, instructional differentiation, and technology is desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Experience working with students of varying abilities; special education experience is a plus. Strong classroom management skills coupled with effective behavior management strategies. Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to meet diverse learning needs. Demonstrated ability in mentoring students and providing academic advising. A Christian testimony and lifetyle, and involvement in a like-minded local church is required.
