Job Description

English Language Arts Teacher
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction and supervision of students Knowledgeable in the reading and writing workshop model Provide a clear purpose for instruction through high student engagement, a knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogy, and use research-based strategies; understand all forms of assessment and how to use these assessments to drive instruction; provide a positive classroom environment and culture that is conducive for all students to learn, and collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved Implement Michigan State Standards through effective instructional practices Familiar with the PLC process and how to use the 4 essential questions in order to drive student learning This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Help monitor hallways and school grounds Be involved in after-school and extra-curricular activities Keep accurate classroom records and communicate effectively Attend conferences and workshops to keep current Work as a collaborative team member looking to grow as an educator and teacher
TEACHING QUALIFICATIONS
: Michigan Certification and must obtain a Language Arts (BX) or English (BA) Endorsement for appropriate grade levels Another one of the following endorsements is preferred, but not necessary: Math (EX), Science (DX) or (DI), Social Studies (RX) Must meet all of the NCLB qualifications
