To support the licensed teacher by providing instructional assistance and performing supervision duties.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the ASL classroom teacher. Assist the licensed teacher in classroom management. Help facilitate basic daily communication between students, teachers, and staff using written language, visual tools, or conversational ASL (ASL skills welcomed but not required). Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with students, problem solving, classroom support. Experience in working with high school students. Demonstrated evidence of ability to take direction. Demonstrated ability to take initiative. Clear communication in speaking and writing. Evidence of friendly, out-going personality. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Evidence of willingness to participate in staff development. Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project. Demonstrated organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
