Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Language Arts Teacher to inspire students in developing their reading, writing, and communication skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for literature, enhance literacy education, and cultivate critical thinking through engaging lessons and innovative instructional strategies. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, expertise in curriculum development, and a commitment to nurturing each student's academic growth in a supportive classroom environment. Duties Design and implement comprehensive language arts curricula that incorporate creative writing, journalism, and literary analysis aligned with educational standards. Develop engaging lesson plans utilizing learning technology and instructional design principles to meet diverse student needs. Incorporate AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and proofreading techniques to elevate students' writing quality. Mentor students through individualized academic advising, tutoring sessions, and classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior. Assess student progress through standardized testing, research projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, literacy initiatives, and library services to enrich the learning experience. Apply knowledge of special education practices and Montessori or other educational philosophies to accommodate varied learning styles. Experience Prior classroom experience in language arts instruction at the middle or high school level is required. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning for diverse learners. Strong background in teaching writing skills, creative writing, journalism, and literacy education. Experience working with students in private school settings or with special education needs is preferred. Familiarity with higher education teaching methods, standardized testing preparation, and research methodologies enhances effectiveness. Proficiency in working with learning technology tools and integrating them into daily instruction to foster interactive learning environments. Proven organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities to effectively manage classrooms and collaborate within educational teams. Pay:
$42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
