Job Description

Aspire Trade High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend core academic instruction with real-world career preparation in a project-based learning (PBL) environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literacy, communication, and workforce readiness, and eager to help students develop both academic and professional skills necessary for success beyond high school.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging instruction for English I aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Teach Career Management to help students explore career pathways, develop employability skills, and create postsecondary plans. Incorporate project-based learning strategies that integrate reading, writing, and career-focused experiences. Foster students' critical thinking, communication, and collaboration through authentic learning tasks. Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments; maintain accurate and timely grade records. Provide individualized support and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues across academic and trade departments to design interdisciplinary projects. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to support academic and career success. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events. Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports respect, professionalism, and growth.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Career & Technical Education (CTE), or a related field. North Carolina Teaching License in English (9-12) or Career and Technical Education
  • Career Management, or willingness to obtain licensure through an approved pathway.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for helping students connect classroom learning to future goals.
Preferred:
Experience teaching high school English and/or Career Management courses. Familiarity with project-based learning (PBL) and career readiness initiatives. Ability to collaborate with trade and core teachers to design integrated, real-world projects.
Skills and Attributes:
Enthusiastic, flexible, and student-focused teaching style. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Commitment to fostering literacy, professionalism, and lifelong learning. Ability to build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional growth.
