The teacher is up to date regarding curriculum content and effectively plans instruction, assessment of student learning, and monitors students' understanding of the curriculum. The teacher establishes and encourages a positive student learning environment. The teacher uses appropriate instructional techniques as well as continually evaluates, experiments, and refines instructional strategies while managing the classroom environment.
